Atlus has announced it’s next installment of the Etrian Odyssey series, Etrian Odyssey X. The game will release on the Nintendo 3DS and will release in Japan August 2nd this year. This will most likely be the last Nintendo 3DS game the Etrian Odyssey series will be on. Atlus Japan has also opened the official website which showcases more art and screenshots of the game. An announcement trailer has also been released, which can be view below.

Etrian Odyssey X

Etrian Odyssey X will bring over quite a bit of job classes from the previous entries, including a new job class titled “Hero,” giving it a total of 19 classes for players to choose. Here is a list of the 19 classes:

 

  • Bushido
  • Farmer
  • Gunner
  • Hero (New)
  • Highlander
  • Imperial
  • Landsknecht
  • Medic
  • Mystic
  • Nightseeker
  • Paladin
  • Prince / Princess
  • Pugilist
  • Ranger
  • Reaper
  • Shinobi
  • Shogun
  • War Magus
  • Zodiac

The game will also include a character creation, a “Force Burst  Force Break,” and a difficulty selection that were once in previous Etrian Odyssey titles. Etrian Odyssey X will also have the largest number of labyrinths. Players will also be able to draw maps with the stylus.

During the announcement trailer, downloadable content (DLC) was revealed for those who purchase the game on day 1, titled “New Adventurer Illustration Pack.” This includes class illustrations from guest illustrations:

  • Shigatake (Vanillaware) Illustration: Farmer
  • Takahata Yuki (FLIPFLOPs) Illustration: Gunner
  • Shirow Miwa Illustration: Nightseeker
  • Mota Illustration: Medic
  • Shigenori Soejima Illustration: Project Re Fantasy (Special Collaboration)

No localization has been announced as of yet but fans of the series can expect to see something from Atlus later in the year on a release to western countries. Etrian Odyssey X will release on August 2, 2018 in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS.
