Sony Rewards made an interesting update to make you want to sign up for their rewards. By collecting a certain amount of trophies from the games you play on your PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, you can use them towards PSN credit and other items. Here’s how the trophy points work:

  • 100 Silver Trophies for 100 points
  • 25 Gold Trophies for 250 points
  • 10 Platinum Trophies for 1,000 points

1,000 points can get you a $10 PSN credit, 2,000 for a $20 PSN credit, and 5,000 for a $50 PSN credit. Not too shabby for something free. There’s a catch. You have to activate the promotion in order to start racking up points. Sign up for the account, link your PSN account with your rewards account and activate each trophy promotion (silver, gold, platinum). All trophies you earned prior do not count. So if you have those games you are so close on getting platinum for, now is the time to get them.

The promotion is for United States residents only. To sign up, you’ll want to go the Sony Rewards sign up page.
