Last year, Sony Japan announced they would close the online servers for Gravity Rush 2 on January 19, 2018 at 2:00pm (January 19, 2018 at 12:00am for ET). While the game has only been out for only a year, most likely the reason for such an early shutdown have been the lack of sales.
The following functions will not be available after the servers close:
- Sending/receiving challenges
- Access to rankings
- Receiving/posting treasure hints
- Receiving/posting/reviewing photo ghosts
- Acquiring Dusty Tokens and rewards
The Dusty Tokens and the Treasure Hunts are big stings for players as this is the only way to pick up rare items such as costumes and talismans. Sony says once the server is closed, these items will not be available. Ouch! Not a very good start for 2018 for Sony having to close servers on a game that’s only been out for a year.
