With all the news going on with the Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo 3DS has been pretty quiet, until now. Rumor spreading of a possible remake of the Game Boy classic, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo 3DS. Personally, one of the best Zelda titles today.
Marcus Sellars, who announced the existence of Soul Calibur VI and Dark Souls Remaster before officially announce has dug-up some info about Link’s Awakening remake on the Nintendo 3DS this year.
Video game developer company Grezzo, who has worked on remakes of previous Zelda titles such as Majora’s Mask, Ocarina of Time and new Zelda title Tri Force Heroes for the Nintendo 3DS, is to be working on the Link’s Awakening remake.
Additional insider in the video game industry has also claimed the remake will be happening and should be revealed “soon”. The remake would be more open like Breath of the Wild.
Nate later posted on Reddit’s 3DS board that the remake was going to release in 2017 but because of the focus on Breath of the Wild and its DLC, the game was pushed back to release somewhere between Q2 andQ3 2018. Additionally, a new “New 2DS Bundle” to be revealed too. The last 3DS Zelda we received back in 2015, Tri Force Heroes. Grezzo’s last game developed was Ever Oasis, released on the Nintendo 3DS last year. Link’s Awakening was originally released on the Game Boy in 1993 and a “DX” version in 1998 featuring colors for the Game Boy Color.
This is all rumors folks but info looking pretty promising. We will have to wait and see what Nintendo will say!
