Fuji TV, a television network company in Japan released the schedule for April, however something was different in the lineup for Sunday at 9am. Dragon Ball Super was being replaced starting April 1st (no fools joke) from its regular Sunday slot to a new anime series called Gegege no Kitaro. Fuji TV say there are no plans to broadcast a new Dragon Ball show since “it’s not like the series is over.”

Leaving fans around the world shocked, everyone speculating, “is it really over?” It’s not 100% if Dragon Ball Super is over. It’s not 100% if Dragon Ball Super will go on hiatus. It’s not 1o0% if Dragon Ball Super would return in a different name. We don’t know anything 100%. What we do know is that Dragon Ball Super is being replaced from its regular time slot starting April 1. Until we hear official work from Toei Animation, the animation company that animates the series, from Akira Toriyama or Toyotarō themselves, we won’t know the future of Dragon Ball.

Ultra Instinct Goku vs Jiren

The television series first aired July 5, 2015 and has been going on since then. During Jump Festa last month in December, a new Dragon Ball movie was announced and would be showing late 2018. There’s still plenty of Dragon Ball to go along with a new video game, Dragon Ball FighterZ releasing end of the month (February 1st in Japan). The television series has been very popular not only Japan but worldwide, ending it now seems a bit odd.

The Dragon Ball franchise had recently lost Hiromi Tsuru, voice actress for Dragon Ball character Bulma and while no official word, would need to search for her replacement. Masako Nozawa, voice actress known for Goku, Gohan, and Goten in the series is 81-years-old. She’s kicking strong but without her would take a big hit for the animated series. Hopefully the series can make a return while the voice actors and actresses are still available.

Dragon Ball Super episode 131 will be the final episode to be aired. Once we learn more information about the future of Dragon Ball Super and the series, we’ll keep you posted!
