Since the game’s release, Ys VIII received some backlash for its localization problem and was quickly addressed by the company to fix it. After months of work, NIS America sent out a release that the localization patch is now live to download for your PlayStation 4 and Vita. Here is the official details regarding the patch:
We are excited to announce that the Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA relocalization patch is officially live for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita! The relocalization patch includes changes in the script, item names, in-game terminology, monster/boss names, graphical text, and fully re-recorded dialogue in English.
The patch file sizes for each platform are as follows:
PS4: 1.16 GB
PS Vita: 279 MBFor PS Vita users, the relocalization patch will be saved on the memory card and will overwrite the previous patch. If PS Vita users have the digital version, it will take up extra space in the system/memory card. If PS Vita users have a retail copy, the patch will be saved on the memory card.
PlayStation 4 players will need to make room of just over 1 GB of space for the new patch and Vita owners just under 300 MB of space on their memory cards.
Along with today’s patch announcement, a free Ys VIII PlayStation 4 theme was released and can be downloaded here. Thanks to Dr4gonkiller96’s YouTube video, you can view screenshots of the theme below:
