Motor City Comic Con Bringing in Anime Voice Actors

Meet the voices of Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, Jaco, Natsu.

Every year around mid-May, Motor City Comic Con is held in Novi, Michigan, west of Detroit. While not as big as other comic cons in Chicago, Los Angeles, it’s Michigan’s largest fan convention. Each year, the convention has grown in attendances and media guests.

In 2017, roughly 55,000 attendances attended the 3-day event, 15,000 more than 2014 (Mlive.com). Big name media stars have made their appearances such as William Shatner (Star Trek, Boston Legal), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Walking Dead) and Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV). While guests are still being announced for this year’s comic con, anime fans will enjoy this year’s guests.

Motor City Comic Con has announced three voice actors will be at this year’s convention: Sean Schemmel, Christopher Sabat, and Todd Haberkorn. All three have lended their voices for the Dragon Ball franchise and other series such as Fairy Tail, Yu Yu Hakusho, Full Metal Alchemist. They have also voiced in video games such as the recent release of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/WiiU.

All three actors will be at the convention on May 18-20 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). Autographs are priced $30, photo ops are priced $40.

You can view the current status of guests appearances at the Motor City Comic Con’s website, don’t be surprise to see the roster fill as May approaches.
