D-Pad Studios released a patch to fix a few issues with Owlboy on the Nintendo Switch. If you’ve been experiencing issues with crashes, missing coins, and some dialogue issues this update will help.

Below are the official, detailed fixes based on the latest version that was posted on Reddit from D-Pad Studios themselves.

v1.0.2 went live for Nintendo Switch today. This is a bugfix release that fixes issues based on player feedback. These include:

  • Sometimes, rings would not respawn if a player died after collecting them.
  • The game would crash when unlocking the final item in Buccanary’s shop.
  • Certain non-English letters would appear as an X in tooltips.
  • Dialogue options during the Bonfire scene would sometimes not show completely.

Missing Coins? If you have had an issue where you could not collect all the coins, you can now go to Buccanary’s shop, go right of the curtains, and then press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B in order to unlock any coins you’ve been missing.

We will continue to improve Owlboy on the Nintendo Switch, so please do not hesitate to let us know if you encounter any issues. We currently have a performance patch in the works that will fix further issues with the game.

Thank you for your reports! support@dpadstudio.com

While this doesn’t cover 100% of issues, such as the frame rate drops, D-Pad Studios is aware of them and is continuing to fix them.

You can pickup Owlboy right now for the Nintendo Switch and PC. The PlayStation 4 version is still to come and will have these fixes added as well. Expect our review of the game coming very soon.
