Last week we reported that Compile Heart was to announce Mary Skelter 2 soon. Today, the 3D dungeon crawler has indeed been confirmed to release on the PlayStation 4. Compile Heart has also released a teaser clip and an additional clip with an animated opening to announce the game. The animated opening clip showcases new characters, Yuu, Mermaid, and Jack and familiar faces such as Alice, Gretel, Cinderella, and Rapunzel returning from the first game, Mary Skelter: Nightmares. The sequel is set to release on June 28 this year in Japan.

The game will be out in three forms: Limited Edition 10,476 yen (tax included), Normal version 7,776 yen (tax included), and digital version 6,912 yen (tax included). Western fans will likely get the normal and digital version. The trailer above uses a score from the band Earphones, titled “Witchcraft ‘Theophile’s Miracle'”, the game’s opening theme. The ending theme of the game “Future thief” is also composed by the same band. Iconically their album comes out next week with these scores.

The first installment, Mary Skelter: Nightmares is also a 3D dungeon crawler that was released on the PlayStation Vita in Japan on October 13, 2016. Almost a year later the game was localized. For those who have not played the first one, should not have to worry as it’ll be added with Mary Skelter 2 with some enhancements such as larger dungeon map, balancing fixes, and debugging.

The odds of having the sequel come west are looking good but how long will western fans have to wait? Mary Skelter 2 releases in Japan on June 28, 2018.
