The once Nintendo Switch exclusive game is no more. Konami announced today that Super Bomberman R is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) on June 12th. Aside from the game, each console will receive an exclusive “bomber” character to play.

PlayStation 4 players will receive Ratchet from Ratchet & Clank series. Xbox One players will receive Master Chief from the Halo series. PC (Steam) players will receive P-body from the video game, Portal. As of right now, Nintendo will not receive an exclusive character. Seeing that the game was exclusive to the Nintendo Switch for a year, this may have been the trade-off. Hopefully Konami and Nintendo will announce an exclusive character down the road.

Those who pre-order the game by digital or physical edition will receive eight shiny “Bomberman Brothers” and a “Golden Vic Viper Bomber”. No word if Nintendo Switch players will receive the same treatment for its current owners.

Official details about the game:

Bomberman is back as Super Bomberman R! Place bombs and collect power-ups to blast your way through classic ‘Battle’ or ‘Story’ mode.

Play ‘Battle’ mode where up to eight players are dropped within a maze until the ‘last man standing’ is declared the winner. Venture through ‘Story’ mode where one to two players work cooperatively to clear a series of 50 stages in order to save the galaxy.

Key features in Super Bomberman R include:

  • 3D stages with dynamic environments
  • Bomberman siblings and well-known enemies are back with rich personality
  • Battle mode for up to 8 players via local connection and online gameplay

New Stages

  • Lagoon – features a moving floor that can be used to access a higher level
  • White Cross – features a crossroad of slippery floors
  • Power Zone – All players start with maximum firepower
  • Speed Zone – All players start with maximum speed

2 New Accessories

  • Crown
  • Bomb

When first launched on the Nintendo Switch, the game had quite a few bugs and issues with the gameplay. Konami has made updates to these and should not be an issue with the rest of the platforms when it launches later this year. Super Bomberman R will be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 12, 2018 for $39.99 (USD) and is available now for the Nintendo Switch for $39.99 (USD).
