Splatoon 2: Octo Exapansion was announced earlier this month and showcasing an Octoling, similar to the Inklings but with octopuses. While we saw fair amount of gameplay of the Octoling, we didn’t get much close-up shots of the Octolings tranformation until earlier this morning. Splatoon 2’s official twitter account tweeted out a quick, animated gif of the Octoling transformation.

Very similar in style when comparing to the squid, however the shape of the head and tentacle designs is what makes it stand out, especially the tentacle-mustache. You can still swim quick and do your super jumps like the inklings, so no change there.

Splatoon 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch, the Octo Expansion DLC will be available in the summer. The expansion will cost $19.99 (USD).
