UPDATE (March 22nd, 2:30pm ET): Japan has updated the official game’s site to release DLC #3 on March 29th along with 1.50 update. Check out latest article regarding the DLC Update.

UPDATE (March 21st, 2:35pm ET): Famitsu states the DLC will release in Japan March 22nd. Expect it to release west in the next 24hrs or so.

Fire Emblem Cipher Festival is an event held in Japan to celebrates Fire Emblem, especially the Cipher card game. During the event on Sunday, footage was shown of Tharja (a dark mage from Fire Emblem Awakening) in-action in Fire Emblem Warriors. While a specific date was not mentioned when Tharja and the remaining two characters from the “Awakening” DLC would be released, however provided at the start of the event, the DLC would be available “before end of March.” However in the latest Famitsu scans, a release date is slated for March 22nd in Japan.

To some this may not be a surprise but Tharja’s movements and actions in the game will resemble Robin. Tharja can be recruited when playing the History Map when players download the “Awakening” DLC pack.

Unfortunately, photos and videos were prohibited during the event and many other areas in the building but during the video footage, tournament players were distracted and fans watching Tharja in-action were reported to be “very hyped”. Apparently Tharja’s victory pose will resemble her official figure.

Earlier today, scans from Famitsu were released, showing off not only Tharja, but also the costumes and characters that’ll be in the game. Here is what will come in the next DLC for Fire Emblem Warriors:

  • Characters: Owain, Tharja, Olivia
  • Three history scenarios
  • Three new costumes
  • Seven new weapons
  • Ten broken armor models

Fire Emblems Warriors is available now for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS. You can purchase all three DLC packs for $19.99 (USD) or separately at $8.99 (USD). DLC pack #3 is slated to release by end of March.
