Broly Making a Return to the Dragon Ball Super Movie

Back for revenge or introduction?

UPDATE 7/9/18 at 7:15 pm ET: We’ve updated the article to relate on the official update from Toei Animation’s Twitter and the official Dragon Ball movie website.

The official Dragon Ball Movie website has made the official announcement. Broly, the Legendary Saiyan is making a return to the big screen. Looking at the promotion art for the movie, the fiery, green aura (or known as “ki”) that matches Broly’s trademark power will be showcased to give Goku and Vegeta a run for its money. So does this mean we’ll get to see the Legendary Super Saiyan possess the Super Saiyan God powers like Goku and Vegeta were able to obtain? One of the biggest difference based on the artwork is the battle scar on Broly’s left cheek. What’s the story behind that if there’s any or does it occur during the movie?

Another note to keep in mind, this could be an entirely new introduction to Broly, as if the past movies never existed. Making it easier to introduce the brutal Saiyan to Beerus, Whis, and Frieza (Freeza), and a few of his new henchmen, they too were announced to be in the movie. For now, until we hear official word if the promotional art is real, this is questionable.

Also worth noting, FUNimation is releasing three remastered films of Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan, Bardock: Father of Goku, and Fusion Reborn  in selected theaters on this fall. Having the Broly and the fusion movie released before the Dragon Ball Super Movie, is it a coincidence or perhaps there’s a chance we will see Gogeta in the upcoming film?

The Dragon Ball Super movie will release December 14, 2018 in Japan. No announcement yet if the movie will be released worldwide and when. We’re speculating this will be a worldwide release but let’s wait for the official announcement before we get too excited.
