Advanced Tickets for Dragon Ball Super: Broly Annihilates Previous Two Films

It’s over 200%!

UPDATE 12/11/12 6:18PM ET: Tickets are now available for North America for selected theaters.

After a long slumber from the Dragon Ball series, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods came in 2013, two years later an additional film was released, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. After the series ended for Dragon Ball Super animated series, a new movie was in production and was just recently announced as Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the third film since 2013.

Last Friday, 50,000-limited advanced tickets were sold to the public. In the first three days, 24,000 tickets were sold. Comparing to the last two films, Dragon Ball Super: Broly sold 236.7% more than Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and 207.2% of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ in just the first two days of sales.

Those who purchased the advanced tickets for Dragon Ball Super: Broly were able to pick up a freebie item of either Goku or Vegeta “God Change Strap.” The figure changes hair color when you dip the figure in cold or hot water. In cold water, the character’s hair turned blue (Super Saiyan Blue) and in hot it turns yellow (Super Saiyan). A nice gift if you planned on watching the new film. Don’t expect something like this here in the west. The best I’ve come across on an animated film from Japan to come to theaters was a button of Mary from Mary and the Witch’s Flower.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly movie released in Japan on December 14, 2018 and available for IMAX, MX4D, and 4DX. North America on January 16, 2019 for digital, some theaters to receive IMAX  treatment. You can read our review on the movie.
