Digimon Survive Gets a Teaser Trailer and Gameplay Footage

Learn the game’s two parts and how they drive the game.

Earlier, Bandai Namco held a Digimon Thanksgiving 2018 live stream which showcased Digimon Survive, a new game of the franchise for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The strategy RPG revolves around a group of children that were transported to another world where they must survive with making various choices to get back to the real world. While making these choices, the character’s digivolutions (Digimon‘s evolution) and ending of the story will alter. These sequences on the story-telling and player choices are known as the “Drama Part” in the game’s gameplay and all the game’s fights are known as “Battle Part.”

In battles, Digimon can transform during the middle of a fight if meeting the required conditions. Mentioned in the stream, the game will have approximately 100 playable Digimon but the game will be based more on the story than collecting.

You can watch the teaser trailer and gameplay footage below. Digimon Survive will release in Japan on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019. No announcement has been made for western countries.
