No Taiko Drum Controls for Western Players

Days ago, Bandai Namco has released an announcement that Taiko no Tatsujin would be headed to the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch to western countries. As for the drum peripherals? Sounds like that’s not coming to western shores, as Bandai Namco has announced that there are “no plans” to release the taiko drum controls along with the game. Could they change their mind? Maybe but highly doubtful. If you are really wanting those drums, you’re option is to cough up some money and import it for the Nintendo Switch or for the PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation 4 version, titled Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! will have a ranked mode, exclusive to the console whereas the Nintendo Switch version, Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! will have the motion controls, the HD rumble in the Joy-Cons. Songs from Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Disney’s Frozen and Zootopia will be in the game’s track list. While we played the import version, Disney’s Moana “How Far I’ll Go” was among the songs listed in the game to be played but never mentioned from PlayStation Blog nor Bandai Namco if it’ll come to the west. We’d be surprised if this track wasn’t included but we’d be open to have “You’re Welcome” included.

You can take a look at the screenshots we took during out gameplay of the import version for the Nintendo Switch below the article. Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! for the PlayStation 4 and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun! for the Nintendo Switch will release in North America and Europe on November 2, 2018, regardless if there isn’t a drum control. Europe will receive the games digital-only where North America will receive both physical and digital versions of the games.
