UNDERTALE Nintendo Switch was announced earlier this year in the Nintendo Direct. While we don’t have a release date for western countries, Japan has received a street date. The popular indie game will release on September 15th with three ways to purchase: digital, physical, and a collector’s edition. The digital edition is priced for 1,620 yen (approx. $14 USD), the physical edition is priced for 4,320 yen (approx. $38 USD), and the collector’s edition is priced for 9,504 yen (approx. $84 USD).

For those who are wondering, the physical edition will be handled by Fangamer in Japan. Fangamer has released an identical version of the collector’s edition for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. Which by the way you can still purchase right now for western countries. Both the physical and collector’s edition will come with a 24-page storybooklet illustrated by Temmie Chang. The collector’s edition will also come with the following:

  • The complete UNDERTALE soundtrack: Over 100 songs on 2 CDs
  • UNDERTALE sheet music booklet featuring six songs with annotations by Toby Fox
  • 14k gold-plated brass music box locket
  • Bookmark (random one of six designs)
  • Cloth (random one of three designs)
  • A sturdy matchbox-style collector’s box

Both physical versions will come with a 24 page booklet. The Collector’s Edition will also come with a 2CD Soundtrack, Toby Fox commentary, 14 carat gold coated music box pendant, bookmark (random one of six) and cloth (random one of three).

There’s no confirmation if a physical edition will be handled for outside Japan, though we want to say yes since Fangamer is producing it but be aware there’ll most likely be a limited supply. If you are anxious on getting the collector’s edition and if you have a PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, or game on your PC, we recommend purchasing it now. The physical items are not identical but very close.
