We haven’t seen a Chrono game since 2000, the PlayStation role-playing game Chrono Cross and Square Enix hasn’t done hardly anything with the series aside from brining Chrono Trigger to smartphones and a crapshoot version on Steam. That hasn’t stopped many fans on wanting to try and create a sequel or a remastered version on Chrono Trigger. Just recently, Simon S. Andersen, the creator of Owlboy, which might we add one of the best indie games out there, has created a trailer on a potential sequel to the Chrono series, Chrono Break. You can watch the Chrono Break trailer below.
Based on the mock-up trailer, we have a couple human characters. One of them is carrying a scythe that resembles one the popular Chrono Trigger characters, Magus but the younger days of him with blue hair. Accompanying him is an elderly woman who resembles Lucca, one of the main characters from Chrono Trigger. While the trailer doesn’t explain any details, we’ll say its Grandma Lucca. Along with her is her robot creation on her back. We wish we could see a triple tech with the two characters and the robot but the trailer is jaw-dropping nonetheless.
Simon took on the project a year ago to create a stunning trailer of what we all yearned for and made us even cry that this doesn’t exist. We wish it did. We want it to. But alas it hasn’t. Simon has a neck when creating art and we can tell he enjoys making these mockups, whether they are real or not. We look forward on what else Simon will make. In the meantime, can someone get Square Enix on the phone to make this happen?
We are also looking into creating some custom desktop and mobile wallpapers of this trailer. Please stay tuned!
