Dragon Quest Builders 2 release date for Japan has been announced. The sequel to one of the best hidden gems in video games today will release on December 20th in Japan. The game will share similar story with the original Dragon Quest II. If you have played the first Dragon Quest Builders, you can transfer your data to bring in some content goodies, such as costumes.
Downloadable content (DLC) has also been announced for the game. Due to the demand of continued content after the first Dragon Quest Builders, says Square Enix. Square Enix will release two waves of DLC, as for what they are remains a mystery. As for pricing, there’ll be a regular edition and one with DLC included. Regular edition will be priced at 7,800 yen (approx. $70 USD) and the game with DLC will cost 9,700 yen (approx. $87 USD).
Early buyers can receive a special recipe, Slime Towers. Purchasing on PlayStation Store or Nintendo’s eShop will get you a recipe of pixel decorations from Dragon Quest Heroes 2. If purchasing the game from Square Enix’s store you’ll score an origami pack of the Dragon Quest monsters.
You can watch the official trailer below and expect a western release date to come in 2019. Dragon Quest Builders 2 will release in Japan on December 20, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
