Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal delayed for western countries. XSEED has announced that the game will be removing the “Intimacy Mode” mode for the PlayStation 4 version, this was requested by Sony Interactive Entertainment. PC players are safe and will remain to have the mode. However, PC players will have to suffer the same fate on the delay. No new release date window has been made as the game was originally to be released this fall.

This is not the only time Sony has stepped in on video game content. Omega Labyrinth Z was originally to be released earlier this year for the PlayStation Vita. The game ended up being cancelled by the publishers because of its erotic content. Official twitter account ToeJame & Earl commented on XSEED’s tweet that they too had to adjust their content for their game.

Senran Kagura series for games has always been known to have this type of mode for many games, many years. We’ve been seeing more Senran Kagura games come to the Nintendo Switch without any content pulled. As to why it’s a sudden change of tune for Sony is another question yet to be answered.
