Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet announced during the Dead or Alive Festival 2018 in Tokyo, Japan. The game will be an updated version of the original Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. Originally released in March 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Vita, the game never came west. Sales numbers didn’t quite cut it on the previous Dead or Alive Xtreme title that released only for the Xbox 360 in 2006.

The game is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2019 in Japan. Right now, you can still order the original Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 on Play-Asia.

Regardless, will the updated Xtreme 3 game release outside Japan? It’s hard to say. Due to Sony’s latest censorship on Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal and the cancelled Omega Labyrinth Z it doesn’t look promising. However, the Nintendo Switch had no issues bringing over Senran Kagura Reflexions so there’s still hope for those wanting the latest Dead or Alive Xtreme game. Nintendo has been pushing more mature content for the Nintendo Switch, so keep an ear out in 2019.
