With the announcement of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet announced, there was slim chances that the game would release to western countries, similar to the original Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune. It’s been confirmed by the game’s Southeast Asia Nintendo distributor, Boeki that the game will definitely not be heading west. However, there’s hope for those who are wanting to play the game. Play-Asia has announced that there’ll be a multi-language subtitles in English, Chinese, and Japanese for this version of the game.
There’s more. The PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch will have some differences. Based on the official website, you can expect some items removed for the PlayStation 4 where they are still available for the Nintendo Switch. For example, the “Gold Fan” and “Softening Gel” items will not be on the PlayStation 4. However, the PlayStation 4 and Vita version of the March 2016 Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune never had these items taken out. Although the game was published before Sony updated their policies.

This isn’t surprising to see Sony removing content. We’ve seen this with Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal and the cancelled Omega Labyrinth Z. On the contrary, both these games are and were scheduled to release in western countries. However, the Nintendo Switch had no issues bringing over Senran Kagura Reflexions. If you are not big into the VR capabilities and trophies, we suggest going with the Nintendo Switch version. Yes the frame rate and resolution is less than the PlayStation 4 but ask yourself this before ordering, do you want all the content available or not.
The game is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2019 in Japan. You can pre-order the multi-language version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet on Play-Asia for both consoles.
