During a press conference in Japan, Warner Bros. Japan and Level-5 announced an animated movie of Ni no Kuni. The film will take place in a new world, new characters and parallel to the real world. If this sounds familiar, it should as the storyline resembles the two Ni no Kuni video games. The film revolves around three high school students, Yuu (voiced by Kento Yamazak), Haru, and Kotona. An incident occurs with Kotona, sending Yuu and Haru to travel between the two worlds. Additional voice actors and details release at a later date.

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino will be overlooking the film’s production. Movie will be directed by Yoshiyuki Momose, previously worked on both Ni no Kuni games, Mary and the Witch’s Flower, Spirited Away, and many other Studio Ghibli films. Music played by Joe Hisaishi and team, who worked on Spirited Away. Furthermore, animation is provided by OLM, Inc. who has worked on all Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch animated movies.

The Ni no Kuni movie set to release in Japan this summer of 2019. You can visit the official website and twitter account for additional details. The official press conference video and screenshots located below, no translations.
