Back in March, the second movie teased to the public but nothing revealed till now. During the Hero FES event at Yokohama National Grand Hall in Pacifico on July 7th, the film’s title and release date revealed. The official title of the film called My Hero Academia THE MOVIE Heroes: Rising. The second My Hero Academia movie releases in Japan’s theaters on December 20th. Additionally, the film received a promotional art.

Kenji Nagasaki, who worked on the first movie, will return to direct the second film. Kohei Horikoshi, the creator behind of the My Hero Academia series, will supervise the film, character designs, and story development. Regarding the movie’s content, Horikoshi had the following to say:
This film can be said to be the final round of a certain type of Hiroaka, because this film uses one of the material I wanted to play in the final battle of the original. I think that there is no 3rd deployment because I think that the expansion beyond this is probably no longer. Maybe.
The first film did quite well in US theaters and expect it to release in North America theaters early 2020. My Hero Academia THE MOVIE Heroes: Rising releases in theaters in Japan on December 20, 2019.
