Anime and Studio Ghibli fans rejoice! HBO Max will stream Studio Ghibli films when the streaming service opens up in spring 2020. The deal will bring in 21 Studio Ghibli films, being the first time to bring these films to a streaming service in North America. Here’s the list of movies that’ll be streaming on HBO Max:

- Kiki’s Delivery Service

- My Neighbors the Yamadas

- Only Yesterday
- Pom Poko
- Ponyo
- Porco Rosso
- Princess Mononoke
- The Secret World of Arrietty
- Spirited Away
- The Tale of The Princess Kaguya
- Tales From Earthsea
- When Marnie Was There
- Whisper of the Heart
- The Wind Rises (launching Fall 2020)
There’s no confirmation yet on pricing for HBO Max but it could fall in the $15 per month. Other content the streaming service will provide includes all episodes of Friends, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and an animated series of the Gremlins. Studio Ghibli has been a big influence for many entertainments and this announcement to bring its films to a streaming service is quite big. Question is, will you fork over another subscription to watch Studio Ghibli on HBO Max?
