With the lack of third-party accessories for the Nintendo Switch, the team at Satisfye stepped in at the precise moment with their product, the SwitchGrip Pro. Originally backed by more than 300,000 people on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, you can now purchase the SwitchGrip Pro for the original Nintendo Switch or the new Nintendo Switch Lite, as well as thumbstick pads, cases, mini grips for your Joy-Cons, and more.

If Wrists Could Talk

The problem with the majority of handheld consoles is the cramping and discomfort that comes with holding small, non-ergonomic devices for an extended period of time. With the SwitchGrip Pro, it adds that additional grip to adjust the angle of your wrist, relaxing it and offering much-needed relief.

The grip’s design is simple. It has rubber pieces on each side and on the back, preventing the console from wiggling around and being thrown off. It also has two black pieces at the bottom that provide additional security. The bottom part doesn’t throw off the look and structure of the design either. Plus, it doesn’t block the Switch’s speakers or the USB-C port. The product designers and engineers have clearly put a lot of thought into this product and the results are fantastic.

The SwitchGrip Pro has made modifications since its release last year such as extra rubber pieces for security and more friendly towards third party Joy-Cons. For those who have the HORI D-Pad Joy-Con, it does fit in the SwitchGrip, but it’s more snug than Nintendo’s own controllers. If you have one of those neon-transparent Joy-Cons that were custom made, those will work fine, too.

Slim vs Elite

The SwitchGrip sells in different bundles such as the SwitchGrip Pro Slim and the SwitchGrip Pro Elite. Both bundles sell the same SwitchGrip Pro accessory. The difference between the two is what other goodies are included.

At the time of this review, the Elite bundle sells for $4 USD more than the Slim. While the Slim bundle comes with a sleek, thin case that holds ten Nintendo Switch cartridges, the bigger Elite case can hold twenty. Additionally, the Elite has zipper pouches to hold extra accessories and cartridges. The Slim does not. To make the Elite more worth its price, its case has the storage space to hold a backup battery and a USB-A to USB-C charging cable.

Clearly, the SwitchGrip Pro Elite bundle is well worth it for those who enjoy a ton of gaming on the go.

Problems? No Problem

Like any product manufactured, not every one made is without flaws 100 percent of the time. You may come across a slightly offset seam on the grip, for example. If you receive a product that’s defective, you can have it exchanged as long as it wasn’t misused or modified. At the time of this review, customers can register their product within thirty days of the purchase date to receive the manufacturer’s three-year extended warranty. If you don’t register, customers have ninety days instead.

Without question, Satisfye wants you to be satisfied with their product and three years is plenty for an accessory.

The Final Grip

Satisfye’s SwitchGrip is an impressive accessory for the Nintendo Switch that’s well worth the purchase if you enjoy portable play. With great customer service and multiple bundles available, this product should not be overlooked. You can make your purchase on Satisfye’s official site.
