Code Shifter Announced by Arc System Works

Fighting 8-bit style.

Code Shifter announced by Arc System Works will make its way to multiple platforms: PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. You’ll play as a game developer named Stella, who’s in charge to take care of a few game bugs before its release day. While fixing, mysterious bugs overcome her deadline and puts Stella under stress. Last resort, she opens up her debug software, Code Shifter where her avatar goes into the system to eradicate the issues. Inside you’ll get some help with some familiar faces.

This action-platformer is stocked with 100 characters from multiple franchise series such as Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and River City that’ll aid you in battle in 8-bit style. Players can unlock more playable characters by completing Ex Stages from the game’s story mode. Code Shifter‘s soundtrack features 8-bit renditions from character themes such as “Give Me a Break” and “Bullet Dance”. Defeating bosses will reward Stella new costumes that’ll giver her different powers when equipped. Additionally, the game has a mini-game mode that’ll let up to 4 players battle it out.

Code Shifter releases in Q1 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. You can visit the official website for additional information.
