Netflix is getting on the anime bandwagon for live-action. Just like how Disney is transforming its animated films. With popular anime Cowboy Beebop getting a live-action treatment for Netflix, One Piece will joining. Fans of One Piece should be happy to hear that the original creator, Eiichiro Oda has signed on as an executive producer of the live-action series. The first season to release 10 episodes on Netflix. Oda has posted the news on Twitter the news of the series and that casting updates to come. We can’t wait to see the Alabasta Arc if the series can get far enough being developed.

Release window has yet to be decided, don’t hold your breath for this year. Hopefully we won’t see a similar fate that has happened with Netflix’s Death Note. Netflix has brought in other live-action, anime-based series from Japan. Such as FullMetal Alchemist and Bleach. Animated films from Japan also joined the Netflix library such as Ni no Kuni and Dragon Quest Your Story.
One Piece one of the most popular anime series still airing in Japan since 1999 with over 800 episodes. Additionally, the series released 14 films and the manga still going strong since its debut in 1997.
