NieR Replicant Remastered Announced

Celebrating 10 years of the game’s original release.

Announced by Square Enix, NieR Replicant remastered announced for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (Steam). The game’s official title (take a deep breath), NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… This is the first time the game released in the west. Don’t be confused with NieR that released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox One in 2010, known as NieR Gestalt. In NieR Replicant, players play as the teenage boy of NieR whereas in NieR Gestalt you’ll play as a middle-aged NieR.

Originally in Japan, there were two NieR games before the famous NieR Automata game was released. In Japan, NieR Replicant was released on the PlayStation 3 whereas NieR Gestalt released on the Xbox 360. Instead of bringing both games to the west, Square Enix made the decision to only bring NieR Gestalt and developed to be also released on the PlayStation 3. For news of NieR Replicant remastered to be released and coming west is big news for NieR fans. If you were lucky enough to go to the NieR:Orchestra Concert, some remastered clips of NieR Replicant were shown off.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… celebrates 10 years since the game’s original release. Ideally, Yoko Taro (acclaimed director of the NieR series) and team wants the game to release for the 10 year anniversary this year but with the worldwide pandemic, things could be a bit tricky.
