Due to the pandemic across the globe, many conventions have been cancelled or postponed. Anime Expo, the largest convention for anime in the United States, has been cancelled for people to attend physically in Los Angeles this year. However, a free digital event will take place instead on July 3rd and 4th as Anime Expo Lite. The event will feature the anime industry such as Bushiroad, Crunchyroll, Pony Canyon, VIZ. Fans can expect to see special guests, including legendary Yoshitaka Amano. Industry announcements, exclusive content from Japan, Q&As and giveaways. Additional details to come closer to July.

To celebrate the new event, a special key art from the cast of The World Ends With You is used. Originally the art was going to be for the program guide for this year’s event in California. For those who are wondering, what does this special key art mean? Square Enix does do more than just games as they also work with the anime and manga industry. For example, Full Metal Alchemist. The last time we heard about The World Ends With You was when the game was ported over to the Nintendo Switch in October 2018.

For more info, you can visit the official Anime Expo Lite website for notifications.
