Things have been quiet around for Nintendo while Sony is making noise with its recent PlayStation 5 reveal. While not exactly a Nintendo Direct, a Pokemon presentation, Pokemon Presents, showcased a few updates from mobile to the Switch.
Pokemon Announcements
Pokemon Smile first to announce in today’s presentation. The mobile game developed to help kids brush their teeth in a fun way, save their Pokemon friends from cavity-causing bacteria. Using the device’s camera, children can play the game while brushing. The game available now at the App Store and Google Play. Free game with no in-app purchases (nice).
Pokemon Cafe Mix is a puzzle game for mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch. As owner of the cafe, you’ll work together with Pokemon friends to complete puzzles and delicious dishes to serve by linking similar Pokemon faces to complete challenges. Don’t forget that each Pokemon can use their special skills to help solve puzzles. The game releases June 23rd on the Nintendo eShop. June 25th on the App Store and Google Play. Free to play with in-app purchases.
New Pokemon Snap takes the classic Nintendo 64 game and bringing to the Nintendo Switch. Game is under development and additional details to come.
Pokemon GO continues to deliver content during the pandemic. This year’s Pokemon GO Fest will go digitally and for everyone worldwide. Participating gives players a chance for a legendary Pokemon, appearing to be Victini. Additionally, mega evolution to be added in the mobile game later this year. Pokemon GO players can find Galarian Farfetch’d and pickup clothing based off of The Isle of Armor.
The Isle of Armor launches today for the Nintendo Switch. This is the first part of the expansion as the second part releases this fall. To celebrate, legendary Pokemon Zeraora will now appear in raid battles in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Making it better, players can win a shiny version of Zeraora if 1 million players defeat Zeraora in max raid battles. The battle is timed from June 17th to June 28th.
However this is not it. Another Pokemon Present to broadcast live on June 24th, 2020 to showcase a new, big project. Full presentation of June 17th’s Pokemon Presents below.
