No more hunting for the Game Boy Color games, the original Shantae and Xtreme Sports games are releasing for the Nintendo Switch, both digitally and physically. That makes all five Shantae games available on the Nintendo Switch later this year, including the announcement of Shantae: Risky’s Revenge – Director’s Cut earlier today.

The original Shantae released for the Game Boy Color in 2002 was published by Capcom but didn’t sell well. Shocking to hear today as her fanbase grew quite large over the years and five games released. Grabbing the original Game Boy Color game would cost quite a few bucks. However fans can rest easy as Limited Run Games is opening pre-orders of the return of the original Shantae in September 2020.

Xtreme Sports originally released on the Game Boy Color in 2000. Players would compete against opponents in 25 different tracks in sports, such as skateboarding, surfing, and street luge. Years later, Xtreme Sports released on the Virtual Console on the Nintendo 3DS. It’s good to see the game returns on the Nintendo Switch this fall. Physical edition pre-orders for Xtreme Sports opens in October 2020 on Limited Run Games’s website.
