The rumors of an Atelier Ryza sequel for the Nintendo Switch came true. Atelier Ryza 2 announced during Japan’s Nintendo Mini Direct earlier today. The game will also release on the PlayStation 4 and on PC (Steam). Surprising, the game wasn’t revealed in the North America direct. Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is the direct sequel to Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, which the game shipped over 420,000 copies worldwide. Ryza makes her return in the sequel as the protagonist. Additionally this makes it the first time in the franchise a character keeps their hero role in two titles.
Additional details will come soon. The game’s official teaser site went live during the direct and stating more details about the game coming July 29, 2020. A special video to reveal on the same day on Youtube. In the meantime, a sweepstakes starting July 20th to August 4th gives fans a chance to win Atelier Ryza merchandise. All you need is a twitter account and tell Koei Tecmo US your fond memories of Atelier Ryza with the #WelcomeBackRyza hashtag to enter. Details of rules and entry available on the website.
