Starting today on August 8th at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Granblue Fantasy: Versus will receive a version 1.40 update. The update consists a handful of goodies such as a new “Boss Battle Time Attack” and “GBVS: Blitz” game modes, as well as new RPG mode episodes. Players can earn a code for 1,000 crystals after clearing episode 45 of the main quest. Boss Battle Time Attack and GBVS: Blitz start dates announced in-game soon.

That’s not all. A season 2 of DLC fighters announced to bring Belial on September 23rd (24th in Japan) along with a 2.00 update. The 2.00 update brings more balancing to the game, reset Versus Rank for all groups and purchasing season 2 DLC. In October, Cagliostro will join the fray. Additional DLC fighters to come between December 2020 and Summer 2021. Due to the COVID-19 issues, English voiceovers won’t be available at the time the season 2 characters launch.

In other news, Arc System Works and XSEED Games are scheduling an online exhibition match, “ARCREVO America Online” 2020 this October. The top two players in Granblue Fantasy: Versus and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle from each region invited to take part in a special America VS Japan exhibition match planned for Spring 2021.
