Square Enix releases a The World Ends With You animation trailer. In the 90 second trailer, Neku awakens in the middle of Shibuya crosswalk. Confused of being transparent to the world around him, little does he know he’s in a different plane called the Underground. The trailer cuts off to text screens. Based on the clip provided, the animation looks nicely done and closely resembles the video game style. It’ll be interesting how the rest will be animated.
The World Ends With You animation announced during Anime Expo Lite and airs in 2021. Funimation will handle the dubbing and on their streaming service.
