Neon Genesis Evangelion, one of the most popular anime series around the world is finally going Blu-Ray for the first time. The company announced it has acquired North American theatrical, home video and EST rights. The deal includes the original twenty-six episode television series, NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, as well as the films EVANGELION: DEATH (TRUE)2 and THE END OF EVANGELION. All three properties to release on Blu-ray and on digital download-to-own in 2021. This is one of the best times for the news to occur since the series is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The original DVD set have been obsolete and hard to find. 2021 looks to make it easier for Evangelion fans.

Last year, Netflix picked up the series for their streaming service along with a new voice cast. The new voice cast brought mixed feelings to those who were used of the original 1990s cast. For email notifications, you can sign up for alerts on GKIDS’s Neon Genesis Evangelion website.
