Trophies were first introduced on the PlayStation 3 and just before the release of the PlayStation 5, PlayStation trophies are getting an upgrade. Trophy levels officially adjusted and you’ll notice your level will jump significantly. For example, if you’re at level 12, the upgrade will put you in the low 200s. This is determined based on what trophies you’ve received: bronze, silver, gold, platinum.

PlayStation Trophy Levels

The trophy level design also received an upgrade. Instead of the generic single-star icon, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation App users will see the graphic change. Based on what level you are at will depend on your icon. Here’s the range between each icon:

  • Bronze: levels 1-299
  • Silver: levels 300 – 599
  • Gold: levels 600 – 998
  • Platinum: level 999

Additionally, the closer to a new colored icon, your icon will change designs. All trophies earned from previous PlayStation console will transfer to the PlayStation 5, similar to when the PlayStation 4 launched. It’s unfortunate that the PlayStation 4 won’t receive the same icon treatment and appears the PlayStation 3 will be left in the dark on the update. Those interested in playing their PlayStation 4 games on the next-generation console should read what’s tweaked and compatible for the PlayStation 5.
