Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Announced

Yuffie makes her entrance.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade announced during Sony’s first 2021 PlayStation State of Play. The reveal was more than just upgrade visuals and frame rates for the popular 2020 Final Fantasy game. In fact, Final Fantasy VII Remake will receive new content along with a familiar face. Yuffie Kisaragi, one of the main characters from the 1997 Final Fantasy VII video game, makes her entrance as she infiltrates Shinra Corporation to steal a powerful materia and restore glory to her homeland. This new episode will let players control Yuffie along with her companion, Sonon as they traveling through Midgar.

Along with a new episode with Yuffie, Final Fantasy VII Remake will have not only graphic updates but also gameplay and system enhancements for the PlayStation 5. Square Enix revealed the following upgrades for the role-playing game:

  • Improved textures, lighting, and background environments. Players can switch between two game modes:
    • “Graphics Mode” prioritizes 4K high-resolution graphics
    • “Performance Mode” prioritizes smooth action at 60 frames per second
  • Capture and share your memorable moments from the game with a fully customizable “Photo Mode”
  • Enjoy immersive battles by using the DualSense wireless controller, with its haptic feedback integration, and enjoy dynamic bike racing with its adaptive triggers.
  • New difficulty settings for ‘Classic Mode’ provide new ways to play.
  • Optimized loading times.

These enhancements and new content launches worldwide on June 10, 2021 for the PlayStation 5. Picking up the PlayStation 5 version will include the Yuffie episode. Those who have the original PlayStation 4 game will receive these enhancements for free but will have to pay for the Yuffie episode. Additionally, players will have to insert the PlayStation 4 disc in the PlayStation 5 console to play the game with enhancements.

Customers who pre-order the digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will receive the pre-order bonus Cacstar weapon for use in the new episode featuring Yuffie.
