Demon Slayer‘s movie was a huge success in Japan in 2020, topping many films in the box office including Spirited Away. However it’s been quiet when a North America release would occur until now. An official announcement made by Aniplex and Funimation for the Demon Slayer movie release date. Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train hitting theaters April 23, 2021 in North America. The animated film will also play in 4DX and on IMAX screens. Additionally, the film will be available in both English dub and subtitled with Japanese voiceovers. Tickets are available starting April 9th at Funimation’s website.

The film is rated R due to violence and bloody images and will run for 1 hour and 57 minutes. Those who do not want to or cannot go to theaters, a digital release was revealed to release on June 22, 2021 for the following platforms: Apple TV, Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google Play, PlayStation Store, and Amazon. Pre-orders open on April 26, 2021 for Apple TV, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation Store.
