Square Enix’s latest and newest project revolves around the first Final Fantasy but in a different perspective. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin announced during Square Enix’s summer presentation for E3. Koei Tecmo involved with development, the game looks to be an action adventure game with some hack-n-slash style combat.

The trailer plays-off keywords such as Chaos and Warriors of Light. The warriors looking for Chaos ends up battling a figure who represents Garland, one of the villains in the first Final Fantasy game. The game is geared more mature with its battle violence and dark environment. Expect additional details of this new game to come later in the year.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin releases on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2022. A free demo available on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 5 beginning June 13, 2021 and until June 24, 2021 10:59 pm EDT / 7:59 pm PDT. Once that period is over, the demo will no longer be able to be played.
