Nintendo’s online service for the Nintendo Switch looks to expand its gaming library to new consoles. The Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis library coming to the online service in later October. Games that let players play up to four players at once will remain the same, games like Star Fox 64 for example. However, with the Switch Online membership update, you can now play with other players online for some multiplayer fun. Who’ll get the short end of the stick for Slippy?
Additionally, Nintendo will also sell wireless Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis original controllers on the website, similar to the NES and Super Nintendo controllers, retailing at $49.99 USD each.
Here are the games coming for the Nintendo 64 at launch:
- Super Mario 64
- Mario Kart 64
- Starfox 64
- Yoshi’s Story
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- WinBack
- Mario Tennis
- Dr. Mario 64
- Sin & Punishment
The following games to release later for the Nintendo 64 library:
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
- Mario Golf
- Pokémon Snap
- F-Zero X
- Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards
- Paper Mario
- Banjo Kazooie
Here are the games coming for the Sega Genesis:
- Castlevania Bloodlines
- Contra Hard Corps
- Dr. Robotnick’s Mean Bean Machine
- Eco the Dolphin
- Golden Axe
- Gunstar Heroes
- Musha
- Phantasy Star IV

- Shinobi III
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2
- Streets of Rage 2
- Strider
To receive games from both consoles, Switch owners will have to pay extra for these libraries. Those who do not want the extra content can still pay the original membership. Details on cost to come soon.
