Dragon Ball The Breakers announced by Bandai Namco is the next big Dragon Ball game since Dragon Ball Kakarot. Unlike majority of the other Dragon Ball games where you play as the protagonist and relive the franchise’s timeline, this upcoming game sets the gameplay quite different. The setup is based on the Dragon Ball Xenoverse universe, another Dragon Ball video game based on altering timelines. Dragon Ball The Breakers is a 7 versus 1 matches where players can play as the normal “Survivors” trying to survive and escape from the “Raider”.
The Survivors have been sucked into a mysterious phenomenon called the “Temporal Seam” and have to contend with the eighth player’s overwhelming power as the Raider. The Raider will play as one of the infamous villains from the popular anime, Dragon Ball Z. Players can play as Cell, Buu, or Frieza to take out and overpower each Survivor. It would be interesting if additional villains will be added such as King Piccolo from the original Dragon Ball or someone from the newer series, Dragon Ball Super. Players can look forward to playing a young Bulma and Oolong from the original Dragon Ball series or create their custom avatar. Use items to help escape and hide from the Raider.
A closed beta test available soon for PC. If you happen to have a save data from Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dragon Ball The Breakers will link the data for bonus features. Details for both to come at a later date.
Dragon Ball The Breakers announced for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2022. The game will be compatible to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Additional product information available on Bandai’s website.
