Surprise! Another Pixar film is going straight to the Disney+ streaming service. Turning Red is the third Pixar film skipping theaters and right into Disney+’s library for everyone who is already paying for the membership. Unlike the live-action Mulan film, Turning Red will not cost extra for current members.

Just when the global pandemic hit worldwide, closing down business for months, Pixar’s Onward was just released in theaters and straight to Disney+. Last year, Pixar’s Soul and Luca skipped the theater all-together and straight to Disney+, also no extra cost to watch. While it’s disappointing that Turning Red isn’t getting the big screen it deserves, hopefully Pixar’s next film will be its first theater release since March 2020.

Turning Red premieres exclusively on Disney+ on March 11, 2022.
