Sonic the Hedgehog 2‘s film didn’t just win its opening weekend, it destroyed the box office. The film brought in $72.1 million on its opening weekend at 4,234 theaters across the United States. Marvel’s film by Sony, Mobius, came in second but brought in $10.2 million but was its second weekend. Here’s the shocker, Mobius as of today only brought in $39 million total. Sonic’s newest film made almost twice as much in just one weekend. You could say Sonic destroyed the box office for Mobius.

The blue blur continues to bring in the money, as of April 13th the film grossed at $85.1 million. It’ll be interesting to see how far this blue hedgehog will go in the box office. The film is enjoyable and recommended for Sonic fans, our review of the film available.

Sonic’s first film in 2020 grossed at $58 million on its opening weekend. The film total gross at $148.9 million. Will Sonic the Hedgehog 2 beat that? It looks promising!
