One Piece Film: Red in Theaters This Fall

Shank’s daughter makes an entrance.

One Piece‘s next movie, One Piece Film: Red hits theaters this fall worldwide. The 15th film of the popular series debuts in Japan on August 6th, later in the fall in selected theaters in U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The film will debut in both subtitled and dubbed versions. In the film Red, One Piece fans will finally see some screen time of Shanks, a pirate that Luffy, the protagonist, has looked up to and influenced him to become a pirate since a child. With how entertaining the previous One Piece films have been, it’ll be interesting how the newest film will go.

Those who are attending this year’s Anime Expo will have a chance to watch an exclusive one-night music event based on the upcoming film. Additionally, a special panel from Toei Animation’s booth to talk about the film. Featuring One Piece producer Shinji Shimizu and, from the English dub, actors Brandon Potter (“Shanks”) and Ian Sinclair (“Brook”) and ADR Director Anthony Bowling.

One Piece Film: Red Synopsis

Uta —the most beloved singer in the world. Renowned for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has come to be described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will reveal herself to the world at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans —excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance —the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is Shanks’ daughter.
