The next Disgaea entry is revealed. Disgaea 7 announced to release in Japan on January 26, 2023. The game will continue to utilize the 3D models and animation like its predecessor, Disgaea 6. This is a bit of a surprise a new developed game will release soon as it still feels fresh that Disgaea 6 was released in the west last summer for the Nintendo Switch, this year on the PlayStation consoles. This would make it two years since Disgaea 6 originally launched in Japan on January 28, 2021. Disgaea 6 had some troublesome issues with frame rates on the Nintendo Switch but smoothed out once launched on the PlayStation consoles and PC. Will the Nintendo Switch version be fixed for Disgaea 7 or will players run into the same issue?

Disgaea 7 takes place in a familiar Japanese timeline, the Edo Period, in the netherworld. Inspired by Japanese culture, the protagonist, Fuji, is a wandering samurai and meets otaku girl named Piririka. The game will bring in big features, literally big, as players can battle giant Prinnies and others to make it like a Godzilla vs King Kong experience. This is Disgaea, anything goes with these random ideas.

Expect the next Disgaea to release in western countries later in 2023. However, will it come first to the Nintendo Switch while PlayStation and PC players have to wait another year?

Disgaea 7 launches in Japan on January 26, 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A western release not officially announced, yet.
