Sony reveals a new PlayStation 5 accessory, the DualSense Edge. The new controller lets players customize not only the controller but include profile settings.
The DualSense Edge gives the user the ability to remap or deactivate button inputs. Additionally, you can adjust the timing input for both the analog sticks and trigger (L2/R2) buttons. A big jump for first-person shooter (FPS) games and throttle control in racing games. With all these adjustments and customization made, you can save them in your profile within the controller and can swap between them anytime. Making it easier for players to change settings when jumping into a different genre game. Regards to volume controls, they are saved under your controller’s profile data.
With these modifications, the DualSense Edge still keeps the DualSense’s core abilities: haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, built-in microphone, motion controls, and more. The customized controller comes with a USB Type-C braided cable and a carrying case. The case will also let players charge their controller while stored away. Take that dust.
Pricing and availability still unknown. Expect the price to be comparable to Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, which cost $179.99 USD. Though with PlayStation 5 consoles still a high-demand, these controllers won’t fly off the shelf as fast.
