Himura Kenshin, aka the Battōsai, and others are coming back. Announced late 2021 during the Jump Festa, the Rurouni Kenshin anime series returns in 2023 and will re-adapt the original manga. A preview trailer showcased during Aniplex Online Fest 2022 revealed the anime’s updated look and a familiar face makes an appearance at the end. During the festival, Aniplex revealed two character renders: Kenshin and Kaoru.
The anime originally aired in 1996 unfortunately did not finish the series fans wanted as it skipped an arc that brought Kenshin’s bloody past to the present. Waiting over 25 years, fans are looking forward to see the missing story animated. The anime’s official website open to public. Rurouni Kenshin anime returns in a new animation adaptation in 2023.
