PlayStation VR2 release date and price announced and it’s not cheap. If you thought the next-gen consoles were already expensive, the PlayStation VR2 will sell at a retail price of $549.99 USD (€599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980). If you happen to have a PlayStation 5 (PS5), you’ll have about three months to save up, as the VR headset releases on February 22, 2023. Hopefully, the headset will not be as difficult to find compared to the PS5 console. The new headset works only on the PlayStation 5 and games from the original PlayStation VR will not work on VR2.
There are two different bundles and a charging station that’ll be up for pre-order solely through PlayStation’s online store starting November 15th for players in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Horizon Call of the Mountain will release also on February 22, 2023, pre-orders for the game alone starts this month too. In other markets, the VR2 will be sold at other retailers, pre-orders also starting November 15th. Here’s each bundle and accessory available to pre-order:

- $549.99 / €599.99 / £529.99 / ¥74,980 recommended retail price (including tax for GBP, EUR, and JPY)

PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle
- $599.99 / €649.99 / £569.99 / ¥79,980 recommended retail price (including tax for GBP, EUR, and JPY)

PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller Charging Station
- $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99 / ¥5,480 recommended retail price (including tax for GBP, EUR, and JPY)
- Players can charge the PS VR2 Sense controller without having to connect to a PS5 console
The PS VR2 will have an OLED screen with a resolution of 4000 x 2040 HDR video format (2000 x 2040 per eye) at a refresh rate of 90Hz, 120 Hz. It’s pricey but will the supply be there compared to the PS5 console and will there be enough games to enjoy at that price mark? At least they’re not asking for $1,500 like Meta’s latest VR headset. The PlayStation VR2 release date set for February 22, 2023.
