Crunchyroll Game, Hime’s Quest, Announced for the Game Boy Color

23 years later to fight Y2K.

Anime streaming service Crunchyroll announced a new media merchandise that’s not about anime but a video game. Crunchyroll game, Hime’s Quest announced to release for the Game Boy Color and web browsers. The game will utilize the square, 4:3 size screen with the 8-bit charm. Based on the short amount of gameplay in the trailer (below) and screenshots, it closely resembles The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening but how well it play?

Those who don’t have a Game Boy Color can still play the game through a web browser when the game releases later this year. Fans of physical editions and those wanting to play on a Game Boy Color can pre-order the game today either on Crunchyroll Store or Limited Run for $44.99 USD. If you have a Crunchyroll service, you can receive a small discount by logging into their website before placing the order. Here’s what’s included:

If you pre-order on Crunchyroll Store, your cartridge will be orange, hence the brand color. Pre-ordering on Limited Run will get you the blue/turquoise colored cartridge. Pre-orders are open until December 23, 2022. Estimated shipping in May 2023.
